My Super Powder Daily

I’ll let you in on a supplement shortcut I have been using for a while now. It’s not brilliant or anything, just something I hadn’t thought of before I thought of it.

There are several supplements that come in a powdered form. Many of them I consider to have several health benefits. It occurred to me some months ago (why did it take me so long?) that I can purchase several, get a gallon container, dump them all in, shake shake shake shake to mix it all very well, then just dip a few scoops out each day, mix in some water, and slug it down. I do that about 30 minutes prior to my daily workout to get the energy boost of the added L-creatine.

Here are the powders I’ve mixed into my mix. I’m not suggesting all of these for everyone, and I realize many people are sensitive to the point that none of these would be tolerable. I’m just letting you know one way I make my daily nutrient intake more efficient.

Powders in my mix:

  • Greens First PRO Berry – This is a dense greens formula that I put in primarily to improve the taste of the mix, which without it would be pretty harsh. But it has lots of great nutrients, plus some probiotics.
  • OM Mushroom Master Blend (Organic) – This is a combination of 10 different species of medicinal mushrooms, which are great for the immune system, the gut, and much else.
  • GI Repair Powder (Vital Nutrients) – A solid combination of nutrients to reduce gut inflammation, prevent/treat leaky gut, and generally optimize digestion and absorption.
  • NAC + Glycine (Pure Encapsulations) – Two important amino acids that improve immunity, enhance detoxification, promote good sleep, reduce stress, and much else.
  • MegaMucosa (Microbiome Labs) – This is great for gut health and is also berry flavored, which helps to make it not just tolerable but actually pretty decent tasting.
  • Colostrum Powder (Codeage) – Colostrum is another that has a wide range of benefits, for immunity and gut health and much else.
  • NOX Synergy Powder (Designs for Health) – This is a combination of nutrients to optimize nitric oxide (NO). NO is important for cardiovascular health, blood pressure regulation, and more.
  • Moringa Powder (Organic India) – Moringa is nutrient-dense and helps to regulate blood sugar and blood pressure, it reduces systemic inflammation, and more.
  • Whole Fiber Fusion (Vital Nutrients) – Because fiber is a good thing to feed the good gut bugs, which ferment the fiber and generate the vital short-chained fatty acids like butyrate.
  • Creatine Monohydrate – Creatine is fuel for muscles, especially in the first few minutes of a workout. It can facilitate muscle maintenance and exercise recovery as well.
  • L-Glutamine (Biotics) – Great for the gut and overall energy.
  • Potassium Bicarbonate – I bought a jug of this powder online. Potassium is great for the heart and for electrolyte balance. The bicarbonate it is attached to helps to alkalinize the body.
Potassium Bicarbonate

I dumped each of these into my gallon container. A few of them I had already scooped some daily doses out of so they weren’t completely full when I combined them. Also, an exception is the potassium bicarbonate. That is one you don’t want to supplement in excess with. It came in a large jug (purchased online) and I probably added about ¼ of the jug to my mix. Once all powders were added I snapped the lid on and shook it for a good 10 minutes. It is important that it be thoroughly mixed.

Most of those purchased powder containers has a scoop that comes with it. I just took one of the mid-sized scoops, probably about 1 tablespoon, and I use it to scoop out two scoops of the combo powder that I add to about 6-8oz of my (deuterium-depleted) water daily. It doesn’t taste like a dream, but it actually isn’t bad. I’m sure I’m getting less than the labeled recommended daily dose of each individual product, but I get a decent dose of everything daily.

I often remark that with supplements and healthy habits, we don’t reduce our risk of illness down to zero with them, but we hedge our bets, making health issues less likely as we age.

Should any of you want to experiment with this concoction, I’ve thrown almost all of these powders into a Plan on Fullscript. I realize this is a one-size-fits-all recipe. Many of you would not tolerate one or even several/all of the ingredients I’ve thrown into this mix. As such, I’m not recommending this powdery combination for anybody in particular, I’m just making it available to everybody.
